On April 28, 2023, a Salt Lake County jury returned a $360,000 verdict in Torres v. McNeil’s Towing, Case No. 180904474, Judge Diana Gibson.
Mr. Torres was injured in a three-car pileup when he was rear-ended by distracted employee of McNeil’s Towing. It was alleged that he suffered a traumatic brain injury, herniated discs in his neck and back, and had a torn labrum in his shoulder that required surgery.
Liability was stipulated. The jury was asked to evaluate damages alone.
The jury awarded the following:
Past medical expenses – $60,000.00
General damages – $300,000.00
Plaintiff’s was: Michael Giovaniello, M.D. (physical medicine and rehabilitation).
Defendant’s experts were: Todd Fellars, M.D. (orthopedics), and Adam Schwebach, Ph.D (Neuropsychology).
