Two of the defendants in the Wakefield wrongful death / dental malpractice trial (see my blog from earlier today –  Wakefield v. Blume et al) have settled out. Dr. Dennis Blume (the dentist) and The Smile Center have reached a confidential settlement with Jared Wakefield’s parents.

This leaves only the claims against Dr. David Gutzman (the anesthesiologist) for trial. How this affects his counsel’s trial strategy remains to be seen. There may well be an attempt to allocate fault on the settling defendant.
